Yesterday afternoon we played with the students at the Chilamate School and in the evening had a farewell party with our host families! Today is our last day here and we’re going back to the school in the morning and then white water rafting in the afternoon! Below are table designs from Chilamate School!

Day 4 in Costa Rica is going great! We spent the morning with our families, siblings, and homestay buddies. Some of us played soccer and had conversations with our parents/siblings, while others watched TV and ate yummy breakfasts. After we had lunch at one of the homestays with the rest of the group we did the Adventure Race. In groups of three we had to visit stations and complete different tasks. We worked together and tried to receive different bracelets that indicated how well we did. Some of the tasks we did were milking a cow, learning some new dances, making (and eating) tortillas, and conducting an interview in Spanish to one of staff at the ecolodge. Afterwards, we all played in the river
After a deep sleep we are starting our first full day! We’re all packed up and ready to go on a hike, visit Jaime (an ethnobotanist) and then begin our community project! We will end the day meeting our homestay families. Stay tuned! Morning hike and fun with plants!
We met our homestay families this afternoon at the school and helped dig holes for plants, played red light green light with the children and painted the new preschool room and playground equipment! -Kaitlyn G. and Maxine A.M |
