Today, most of the group woke up bright and early after a restless sleep on the overnight train. It was a very beautiful and new experience. It was super cool to look out and see the sun rise over the trees and rivers!
After the train ride, we arrived at the Heranjal train station. We took rickshaw to the local school and met students and teachers of the village. Then, we went to Krishna’s house and met his family, who cooked a very delicious lunch for us. During lunch we practiced eating the food with our right hands and no utensils.

After meeting our host families we met back at Krishna’s house and had our first dance practice! We are learning Yakshagana. It is very detailed and complicated but the group persevered and we are learning quickly. Then we had our nightly meeting to reflect on the day and the group is currently waiting to return to the homestay families.
